Scholarships & Awards Beef Cattle Scholarship
Available to 12th grade 4-H and FFA members who have exhibited steers and/or heifers in the Jackson County Market Steer Show. Students must file an application with the secretary of the Jackson County Cattlemen's Association by February 1, 2010. A $500.00 check will be awarded to the recipient when he/she provides proof of enrollment or a copy of tuition payment at a post secondary institution of his/her choice.William H. Neel Memorial Award
The William H. Neel Memorial Award is presented to a 4-H or FFA member 14 years of age or older who has shown steers in the Jackson County Market Steer and Replacement Heifer Show. The award winner will have his/her name engraved on a permanent plaque housed in the Jackson County Extension Office and will receive a $100 savings bond. Entries must be submitted to the Jackson County Livestock Specialist at the Jackson County Extension Office by February 1, 2010. 4-H or FFA record books may accompany the entry. Selection criteria will be based on:- Beef and non-beef projects
- Extra-curricular activities (school, church, etc.)
- Volunteer and community service
- Scholastic achievement.
