The Jackson County 4-H program offers several camping opportunities for youth. We have both local day camps as well as overnight (residential) camps. Many of our overnight camps take place at the Timpoochee 4-H Center in Niceville, FL. Other overnight events, such as legislature and congress, take place on college campuses. Request more info Member Enrollment Form and 4-H Participation Form must be completed if you are not a current 4-H member Print out Camp Timpoochee Registration Packet by clicking on each link below. Home & Farm Safety Day Camp June 3 Learn about
poisonous plants, fire safety, bicycle safety, tractor & PTO safety - and
MORE! This camp is for ages 8 -13; younger children may attend if
accompanied by a parent. Cost is $5 per person, which includes lunch, a
T-shirt & goody bag. There is a family rate of $15 for 3 or more
immediate family members. |

Kids Culinary Camp June 10 - 12 Learn
about food safety, food preparation techniques, nutrition, herb gardening &
careers in the food industry. Get a behind-the-scenes tour of the Chipola
Culinary Arts program and several local restaurants. This camp is for ages 8
- 13. Cost is $30, which includes supplies, snacks & lunch each day, field
trips, apron & chef's hat. |

Camp at Timpoochee 4-H Center June 16 - 20 This
week-long residential camp is held annually at 4-H Camp TImpoochee on the
Chocwhathatchee Bay, 8 miles east of Niceville, FL. Typical camp
activities include: swimming, canoeing, kayaking, nature hikes, team
building, crafts, fishing, marine explorations, and snorkeling. This
camp is for youth ages 8 -12. Older teens (13 -14 years old) may be
counselors-in training, and teens 15 and older may serve as counselors upon
completion of counselor training. Cost (including all meals, canteen
snacks, t-shirt, and transportation) is $175.00 for 4-H members and $185.00
for non-4-H members. First time campers must attend orientation on
June 4th at 5:30PM at the Extension Office. Registration Packet
(different from day camp registration). |

4-H Character Camp June 26 - 27 7 th annual Character Camp will teach youth ages 5-10 about the character qualities of creativity, compassion, forgiveness, and gratefulness through stories, crafts, and skits. Cost is $25.00. Proceeds benefit the Character Keepers 4-H Club. |

Water Wonders Day Camp July 10 - 11 Learn
all about the water cycle & aquatic animals. Campers will visit the Gulf
Specimen Aquarium and estuaries in Panacea, and go on a fishing excursion.
This camp is for ages 7 - 12. Cost is $25, which includes snacks, field trip
& fishing supplies. |

Double E Horse Camp July 14 - 18 This camp is for girls, ages 9-15, from beginners to intermediates. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis, with a limit of 20 participants. Camp will be held at Ducky Acres Farms, and is sponsored by the Jackson County 4-H Horsin' Around Club. Marvelous Machines Day Camp July 17 - 18 Learn
how to build 4 types of simple machines using gears, pulleys, levers, and
wheels & axles. Then build a solar car! Campers will also go to the Mary
Brogan Museum to see the Marvelous Machines & WATTS electricity exhibit.
This camp is for ages 7 - 12. Cost is $30, which includes supplies, field
trip, admission to the museum, daily snack & lunch on Friday. |

Sports & Nutrition Day Camp July 24 - 25 Learn
basic skills for basketball, soccer & overall fitness. Play games to learn
about what to eat to make you a fitter athlete. Campers will tour
FSU's Athletic Department on Friday. This camp is for ages 8 -13.
Cost is $25, which includes a daily snack, lunch on Friday & field trip
fees. |

4-H Space Camp July 31 - August 1
Learn about Newton's laws of motion by building
3 different types of rockets. Visit the Challenger Learning Center for
a Mission to Mars simulation, Planetarium & IMAX shows in Tallahassee.
This camp for ages 7 - 12. Cost is $40, which includes supplies,
snacks, field trip, lunch on Friday, and admission to IMAX, Planetarium &
Space Mission fees. |

Sewing School Learn how to thread a sewing machine, how to stitch straight & curved lines and make 3 simple sewing projects. One of the projects will be a garment that you can wear to school. This camp is for ages 10-13; cost is $25, which includes a daily snack and supplies to make 3 projects.. Camp is limited to 14 campers. |
